Laminex

History

Laminex Sp. z o.o. was founded in Opacz near Warsaw, in 1987.

Since the very beginning, the company manufactured sanitary products (such as bathtubs, shower pans, sinks and shower cabins) made from polyester and glass composite.

The first years of 1990's were a period of dynamic changes and improvements of the production technology. The company began the production of acrylic bathtubs and shower pans.

The company moved to Mińsk Mazowiecki in 1993-1995. A production line was built in the premises of the State Machine Production Center. The plant received specialized machinery and equipment and the team undergone training.
Contacts were established with the world's best suppliers of raw materials: ICI and DSM. Bathtubs and shower pans are now made in a new, advanced technology.

The sustained growth of sales of acrylic products put the company in the field of interest of Sanitec Group, a European leader in bathroom equipment.

In March 1995 Laminex joined Sanitec Group organizational structure.

At the same time, the company entered yet another stage of reorganization and modernization. Output was tripled, new designs and colors were added, new machinery and equipment were introduced.
The changes were introduced without interrupting the production, keeping the company fully functional. The range was extended with whirlpool bathtubs
and shower cabins.

Laminex products were sold under KOŁO brand since 1997.

The technological and quality level of the products met high requirements of European standards.
ISO 9000 compliant Management System was also introduced, and sales to Western European countries (Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain, Sweden) began. Production was then commenced for companies such as Allia, Koralle, Keramag, IFO, IDO, Twyford, Domino, Leda and Sanitec Ukraine.

The company not only paid attention to technological progress, but would also introduce pro-ecology solutions and benefits for its employees.
Work conditions were improved, and focus was put in making work safer and more comfortable. All environment protection requirements were met. Laminex can be named the expert in air protection. ISO 14000 certificate, awarded in 1999, confirms the effectiveness of environment protection activities.

In 2004 the owners of the plant made a decision to formally merge Laminex Sp. z o.o. with Scanaqua Sp. z o.o. seated in Ozorków. The underlying reasons were arranging the functional structures within Sanitec Group and the fast rate of growth of the business.

In 2008 Sanitec Group made a decision to close the plant in Mińsk Mazowiecki, as a consequence of restructuring processes taking place since 2004. Part of the production was moved to the plant in Ozorków (standard bathtubs). At the same time the management began to search for makers of special bathtubs (short series, advanced designs, complex technologies), bathtubs for medium and premium sectors, whirlpool bathtubs and bathtub skirts.

In 2009, the negotiations between Sanitec Group and Sławomir Frycie (one of the founders) for taking over the plant completed successfully.

In July 2009 Laminex Sp. z o.o. was reactivated as a Special Purpose Vehicle, taking over the real estate, machinery, equipment and employees, and began production for Sanitec Group companies (among others Scanaqua, Sanitec Koło and IFO). The arrangements provided for fluent handing over of complete documentation, including the transfer of ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 certificates for whirlpool bathtubs (ITB), the NF certificate, environment use permits, contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, all regulations, instructions and procedures.
